Round 20 Continued

Mr. Snowmobile was nice, just not for me.  I hoped I'd meet a nice guy soon.  Round 20 continued, let's see who else is out there.

26. The Nurse
He was the same age as me, divorced with one son and worked 2 jobs.  He was tall with dark hair and light eyes.  His profile stated he was BBW/Big&Tall, he only posted head shots of himself.  He had shared custody of his son.

He sent a nice introductory email and we corresponded for a bit.  One evening while I was taking my kids to their practice, he asked what I was up to.  I was going to grab a coffee and hang out at Starbucks.  He was off that night and asked if it would be too forward to meet with such little notice.  I had 2 hours to kill so why not?

We met in the parking lot.  I was caught off guard.  First time I meet a guy and he's way smaller than I expected.  Based on his pictures he looked like he was very stocky, but in person he was thin.  He later told me he'd recently lost a lot of weight.  His clothes hung on him.

We ordered coffee and found a table.  He seemed smitten.  All of sudden he smiled.  OMG!  His top teeth were all rotten and black.  Call me shallow, but a man's teeth are huge for me.  So much so that I'd have to say they are a deal breaker.  If I can't imagine myself kissing a guy, he's not for me.  Turns out we had grown up in the same neighbourhood.  Conversation flowed relatively well, but I couldn't get the image of his teeth out of my head.  A while later I told him I had to go.  He said he really liked me and hoped we could do this again soon.  I thanked him for the coffee and wished him a good night.  As we were leaving he leaned in for a kiss.  I totally backed up and shook his hand.  Sadly I think that made it painfully clear I was not interested.  I never heard from him again.

27. Mr. Exhibitionist
He was 52, tall with dark hair and eyes.  He was divorced with a grown daughter and lived out in the country.  His profile was well written and his pictures showed his love of travel and involvement with charity events.  He sent a great introductory email.  Soon after we moved to the phone.  He had a great sense of humour.  We talked about work, the kids and our interests.  Online dating had not been great for him, he said women all seemed to be in too much of a rush.  He liked to take his time and get to know the person.  This sounded good to me.

Our first meeting was over coffee.  Funny that we both drove the same truck in the same colour.  He was attractive and I'll admit a good kisser, he surprised me by getting the kiss over with at the beginning of the date.  Not long after the guy had his clothes off, so much for taking his time!  Wow, probably set the world record for how quickly a guy can take his clothes off!  I was not impressed and completely caught off guard.  This was inappropriate to say the least.  He seemed disappointed, but put his clothes back on ~ thank goodness.  It was quite obvious as this point he only wanted one thing.  He then went on about having recovered from alcohol addiction and anger management issues.  Ok, I was done.  He said he wanted to see me again.  Yeah, I'll let you know when I'm available.  NOT!

28. Mr. Former Hockey Player
He was 47, tall, stocky with dark hair and eyes.  He had never been married, but had a teenaged son with visitation rights.  His hockey career ended and he was working in construction.  The profile didn't have much.  Given all the spelling mistakes I could tell writing was not one of his strengths.  After a couple of emails he asked if he could call.

He seemed nice, but came across a bit slow.  He wanted to meet for dinner and I agreed.  Later in the week he called to say he had a job out of town so we'd have to postpone our date to the following week.  That was fine.

He called when he got back and told me about his ex and his son.  Work was busy, but as soon as winter arrived he'd be laid off for a few months.  Then the conversation got weird.

Him: " Will you come visit me some time?"

Me: "Visit you?"

Him: "Yeah, I like it when people come visit me."

I couldn't resist, the smart ass in me took over.

Me: "So are you planning on going to jail or being in hospital?"

Him: "What?"

Me: "You asked me if I'd come visit you, it sounded like you'd be going away for a while."

Him: "Oh really?  I don't understand."

Me: "Ok, let's be straight forward shall we?  If you're looking for sex, it ain't gonna happen so in that context, no I'm not interested in visiting you."

Him: "Oh, ok bye."

Unbelievable!  Obviously a few too many concussions from hockey!

Another terrible round.  I think I need a drink.  Have a great weekend!
