Best dates, injecting some positivity!

The date I'm about to write about definitely stands out.  Sadly a relationship never developed because he lied about everything.  Slowly the truth began to surface and he suddenly disappeared. Oh well, this was an awesome date.

We had been emailing and talking for a while.  He was single, never married, no kids and worked in construction.  We'd met for coffee and then again for drinks.  He seemed nice.  Then he asked me out on an official date.  He called the day before to confirm.

Him: "You need to bring a bathing suit and flip flops."

Me: "You don't ask a lady to wear a bathing suit on a date."

Him: "Fine, then don't wear one."

Me: "Where are we going?"

Him: "Can't tell you, it's a surprise. I had to book an appointment so we can't be late.  I'll pick you up at 10:00 so be ready.  Wear comfortable clothes or bring a change with you for after."

Ok, so he showed up a bit early and off we went.  Yes, for those who are wondering, I did pack my bathing suit.  Lol!  The next thing I knew we were at Le Nordik.  He had booked me a 1 hour massage.  He said I was a hard working single mom that deserved a bit of pampering.  He certainly had my attention!  While I had my massage, he took a nap in his truck then met me in the waiting room when I was done.  The bathing suit was for the baths, but he forgot his so we decided to come back another day.

Me: "Thank you so much, that felt wonderful!"

Him: "You've probably been here before. Ready for Part 2?"

Me: "No, this was my first time, but it won't be the last.  Part 2?  That was already too much, I'll make lunch we can go back to my place or let's go to the market."

Him: "No, I have other plans."

From there he took me to Omega Park.  I had never been there either.  We bought carrots and fed the animals, we had a great time.  There was an Audi in front of us.  They were feeding the buffalo, we had been told not to.  Suddenly the bull got upset when they ran out of carrots so he rammed the side of the car over and over again until the guy finally decided maybe he should drive on???  Major damage to the car.  Understandably, we waited a bit before driving through the buffalo herd.

We grabbed a bite at the gift shop on our way out and headed back to town.  We went to his place. His lab was sick and needed her meds.  His Mom was home and she got all excited when she saw me.  Obviously he didn't bring dates home often.  She insisted on making us dinner.  He said no, we'd be leaving soon.

We decided to cook dinner at my place so headed to the grocery store.  Neither one of us knew what we wanted.  Eventually we came across some fresh lobsters, it was a done deal.  We'd have seafood paella.  He survived a trip to the grocery store with me, more bonus points!

It was fun cooking together, but eventually he got in my way so I banished him to the living room where he took a nap.

The paella was great.  After dinner we watched a movie.  Next thing we knew it was 2:00 am so I didn't let him leave.  The next morning we got up and went out for breakfast, then he had to run home and check on the dog before heading to a friend's to help out with a reno project.  The kids would be back soon so we said our good byes.

It was a great date.  Two records broken; first time a date had lasted so long and I got pampered! This gave me a bit of hope and I looked forward to more positive experiences. Sadly it ended badly, but that is another story.

Until next time!
